John Moore appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Scott, Columbia County, Wisconsin, in the household of his parents James and Mary.6 John Moore appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Scott in the household of his parents James and Mary.7 John Moore married Ida May Daggett in 1873 at Columbia County, Wisconsin. John and Ida appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Marcellon, Columbia County, Wisconsin, enumerated 1 June 1880. Their children Warren and L. V. were listed as living with them.8 John appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Flambeau Township, Chippewa (now Rusk) County, Wisconsin, enumerated 7 June 1900. His children L. V. and Alex James were listed as living with him.9 John Moore died on 3 March 1952 at Rusk County, Wisconsin, at age 100.10
