     Newell Henry Hopkins was born on 27 May 1846 at Lawrence, St. Lawrence County, New York.3 He was the son of Lorenzo Danforth Hopkins and Lydia Augusta Holcomb.1,2 Newell Henry Hopkins appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Lawrence in the household of his parents Lorenzo and Lydia.4 Newell Henry Hopkins served in the Civil War with Company A, Wisconsin 31st Infantry Regiment from 21 August 1862 to 20 June 1865.5 He married Julia C. Green on 7 April 1867 at Seneca Township, Crawford County, Wisconsin.6 Newell Henry Hopkins died on 11 June 1912 at age 66.
