     Samuel Burgess was born on 6 July 1785.1 He was the son of Seth Burgess and Mercy Hammon.1 Samuel Burgess married Hannah Hammon about 1806.1 Samuel Burgess appeared on the 1820 Federal Census of Peru, Oxford County, Maine, enumerated 1820.2 He married Lydia Lovejoy after 1843.3 Samuel Burgess died on 26 January 1867 at Peru at age 81.3
