     John Turner was born about 1815 at England.2,3 He was the son of William Turner and Mary (--?--).1 John Turner married Elizabeth Vickers, daughter of Peter Vickers, about 1848.4 John and Elizabeth appeared on the 1850 Federal Census, of Hudson, Walworth County, Wisconsin, enumerated 27 August 1850. Their children Joseph and Mary were listed as living with them, as well as Elizabeth's father Peter Vickers.4 John and Elizabeth appeared on the 1860 Federal Census, of Lamartine, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, enumerated 20 July 1860. Their children Joseph, Mary, Rocina and Gertrude were listed as living with them.5
