     Reverend Daniel Greenleaf was born on 10 February 1679/80 at Newbury, Essex County, Massachusetts.2 He was the son of Stephen Greenleaf and Elizabeth Gerrish.1 Reverend Daniel Greenleaf graduated in 1699 from Harvard College, Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.3 He was a physician from 1699 to 1705 at Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.3 He married Elizabeth Gookin, daughter of Samuel Gookin and Mary Larkin, on 18 November 1701 at Cambridge.1 Reverend Daniel Greenleaf began preaching about 1706 and, in 1708, was ordained pastor of the Congregational Church at (probably) Yarmouth, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, where he remained nearly 20 years.4 He died on 26 August 1763 at Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, at age 83.1
