Many accept that the first child born to the couple was Samuel in 1671 leaving an 11 year gap between the marriage date and the first record of a child born to the couple. This has led them to conclude that the date was incorrect and should be 1670. I have adopted the later date as the more likely but note that it is not the only possibility.
