     Josiah Litchfield was born on 6 March 1777 at Scituate, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.^3,4 He was the son of Daniel Litchfield and Sarah Whitcomb.^1,2 Josiah Litchfield married Nabby Litchfield, daughter of James Litchfield and Elizabeth Litchfield, on 8 June 1795 at Scituate.⁵ Josiah Litchfield died on 6 February 1849 at Springfield, Windsor County, Vermont, at age 71.⁶ He was buried at Summerhill Cemetery, Springfield, Windsor County, Vermont.⁶
