Maysville, Dodge County, Wisconsin, as a private in Company E, 3rd Regiment of Infantry, Wisconsin Volunteers.
7 He recieved a disability discharge from the military on 28 November 1862 at
David's Island, Westchester County, New York.
8 He again served in the military as a private in Company B, 10th Regiment Wisconsin Volunteers from 24 December 1863 to 4 August 1865.
9 He married
Martha Louisa Hopkins, daughter of
Lorenzo Danforth Hopkins and
Lydia Augusta Holcomb, on 7 January 1872 at
Nebraska.
10 Warner Joseph Corey was a butcher on 21 June 1880 at
Lynxville, Crawford County, Wisconsin.

13,14 Research Note: On her "Declaration for Original Pension of a Widow-Child or Children Under Sixteen years of age Surviving", Martha Corey made this declaration: "That she is the widow of Warner J. Corey who enlisted under the name of Warner J. Corey at Maysville, Wisconsin in Co. E of the 3rd Regt. Wis. Vol. Infty & was also at one time a member of Co. B in 10th Reg. Wis. Vol. Infty. in the war of The Rebellion, who while member of said Co. & Regt. was wounded as shown by his Pension Certificate No. 20228 and proofs filed therein and also wounded in left thigh very severely and captured at Buzzard Run and who contracted a chronic disease of the Kidneys from exposure and ill usage while confined in Andersonville and other Confederate prisons and of which disorder I believe he died."
