Clough appeared on the 1875 Kansas State Census of Centropolis Township, Franklin County, Kansas, in the household of his parents Wilbur and Jennie.⁴ Ernest W. Clough appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Ottawa, Franklin County, Kansas in the household of his parents, Wilbur and Jennie.⁵ Ernest W. Clough appeared on the 1885 Kansas State Census of Baker, Crawford County, Kansas, in the household of his parents Wilbur and Jennie.⁶ Ernest W. Clough married Carrie Bubb, daughter of Jacob Bubb and Susan (--?--), on 23 December 1894 at Denver, Denver County, Colorado. Ernest W.
