     Louise Cora Clough was born about 1838 at Maine.2,3 She was the daughter of Reverend Mace Richard Clough and Caroline True Harmon. Louise Cora Clough married William B. Walling, son of Benjamin Walling and Dorothy (--?--), on 22 November 1857 at Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas, in a ceremony preformed by the brides father.4 Louise appeared on the 1860 Federal Census, of Mountain City, Arapahoe County, Kansas, enumerated 20 September 1860. Her son Fredrick A. was listed as living with her. Also enumerated in the household was a John Watson, laborer.5 Louise and William appeared on the 1870 Federal Census, of Central City, Gilpin County, Colorado, enumerated 11 June 1870. Their children Fredrick A., Burt, Edward and May were listed as living with them.6 Louise Cora Clough married second John C. Dunn on 29 June 1875 at Denver, Arapahoe (now Denver) County, Colorado.7,8 Louise and John appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Denver, Arapahoe (now Denver) County, Colorado, at 586 Curtis Street, enumerated 1 June 1880. Her son Elmer E. was listed as living with them. Also in the household were two boarders; Katie Gartman and E.D. Wilkens.9 Louise Cora Clough died on 9 September 1896 at Arizona.10

The 1860 census for Mountain City is very confusing. William Walling, Wilbur Clough, and Louise (Clough) Walling all appear in different dwellings with other unrelated people. The twentieth of September 1860 was a Thursday and my only guess is that the enumerator visited work places on this day and listed the people he found there.
