Clarence Sylvester Clough
     Clarence Sylvester Clough was born on 29 September 1918 at Mitchell, Davison County, South Dakota.2,3,4 He was the son of John Casper Clough and Lydia Electa Corey.1 Clarence Sylvester Clough appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Mitchell, Davison County, South Dakota in the household of his parents, John and Lyda.5 Clarence Sylvester Clough appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Hayti, Hamlin County, South Dakota in the household of his parents, John and Lyda.6 Clarence Sylvester Clough served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 5 November 1940 to 1945.7 Clarence fought on Bataan and Corregidor in the Philippine Islands and was a prisoner of the Japanese from 6 May 1942 to 5 September 1945.8,9,10 He was a mink rancher from 1948 to 1972 at Bruce, Rusk County, Wisconsin. He married Margie Lee Moore, daughter of Seth Alexander Moore and Doris Edna Dearhamer, on 15 October 1948 at Bruce. Clarence Sylvester Clough died of lung cancer on 6 September 1985 at Bruce at age 66.4 He was buried on 9 September 1985 at Apollonia Cemetery, Bruce, Rusk County, Wisconsin.4
