Seth Burgess Wing, for many years a resident of this village, and for the past 10 years a resident of Watertown, died last Thursday morning, May 10th, at his home in that city following a paralytic stroke. He had been failing in health since last September. His death occurred at 5:30 A.M. Mr. Wing was born in Canada, May 25th, 1843. He was twice married, his first wife preceding him in death about 13 years ago. In 1918, he was married to Emma Minday of Watertown, and has since resided in that city.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Minnie Moore of Ladysmith and two sons. Herbert & Will, the latter having died a few years ago. One stepson Frank, has passed on. There are 12 grandchildren and 12 g. grandchildren. One brother George Wing of Endeavor and two sisters, Mrs Eliza Colburn & Mrs. Abbie Mosher of Pardeeville, also survive. Mr. Wing served in the Civil War with Co. E. 9th Vt. infantry. The funeral was held Saturday, with brief services at the Schmutzler chapel at Watertown, after which the remains were brought to Pardeeville, where services were conducted at the M.E. church. Rev. E. J. Roberts, a former Pardeeville pastor in charge, assisted by Rev. Wenberg. Interment took place in Marcellon. Members of the Harry D. Jerred Post American Legion were bearers, and the W.R.C. attended the funeral in a body.
