Mrs Geo. Moore Dies at Madison

Well-Know Old Resident Came to Ladysmith in 1902

Mrs. George Moore, pioneer Ladysmith resident, died Friday, August 13, at a Madison hospital of complications following a hip fracture.

Mrs. Minnie Wing Moore was born in Columbia county Jan. 9, 1872. She was united in marriage to George Moore Jan. 17 1896*, at Pardeeville, where they resided until coming to Ladysmith in September of the year 1902.

Five children were born to this union, three daughters and two sons. For several years Mrs. Moore had made her home with her daughter at Wisconsin Rapids.

Survivors are: Mrs Maude Shearier, Wisconsin Rapids; Wesley Moore, Ashland; and Seth, of Bruce. Her husband and two daughters preceeded her in death. There also remain 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Monday at two o'clock from the McElravy funeral home, with the Rev. W. K. Arrowood reading the last rites. Interment was made at Riverside Cemetary, Ladysmith.
