George Moore died at the family home three miles southwest of Ladysmith Friday, after several -years' illness. Mr. Moore was 73 years of age at the time of his deatrh and had been a resident of Ladysmith and vicinity for the past 33 years.
Funeral services were conducted at the McElravy funeral home Sunday afternoon at 3:30 followed by further services at the Church of Christ, Rev. A. Berton Clarke officiating, with interment at Riverside cemetary.
George Moore was born in Columbia county, Wisconsin, April 8, 1861. He was married to Minnie Wing at Pardeeville, Wis., Jan 17, 1886, where he lived 17 years. To this union five children were born. Two daughters, Mable and Mrs. Clyde Hebard, preceeded the father in death. The living children are Mrs. Ed Shearier, of Wisconsin Rapids; Wesley, of Ashland; and Seth, at home.
Mr. Moore came to Ladysmith about the year 1902 and has resided here since that time. He was a member of the Woodman lodge.
Those of the immediate family who remain are: the widow, Mrs. Minnie Moore, of almost 50 years of wedded life; the three children previously mentioned; one brother, John Moore, of Bruce; a sister, Mrs. Katherine Treadwell of Pardeeville; 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Out-of-town relatives present for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Warren Moore, of St. Paul; Alex Moore of Owen; Mr. and Mrs. L. V. Moore and son Clifford, John Moore, Mrs. Minnie Watkins and Mrs. Ida Hemphill, of Bruce; Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Moore, of Ashland; and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Shearier, od Wisconsin Rapids.
